The nature of God never changes, but His law has changed many times!

"For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also." Hebrews 7:12

While it is true that God never changes, God's law has often changed. The statement is as illogical as it is unscriptural.

A. This was one of the original false arguments made by Ellen G. White (the Adventists own inspired prophet herself) Let's test the prophet!

Ellen G. White said: " The holy Sabbath looked glorious a halo of glory was all around it. I saw that the Sabbath commandment was not nailed to the cross. If it was, the other nine commandments were; and we are at liberty to break them all as well as to break the fourth. I saw that God had not changed the Sabbath, for he never changes." (Early Writings of Ellen G. White," page 33, official Adventist publication)

B. More recent Adventist argument:

"And the ten commandments, which are an expression of His character, cannot be changed either. Christ proved this when He died on the cross and paid the penalty for us. The law shows us what sin is; and the wages of sin is death. If the law and the penalty for breaking it could have been changed, then Christ would not have had to die for us. In Mt. 26:39 Christ prayed, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me:" It was not possible, so Christ died for us."

Adventist prophet proven wrong:

A. The Bible plainly says that God's law changed: "For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also." Hebrews 7:12

B. The Ten Commandments did not exist before Sinai!

  1. Sabbatarians falsely say: "Adam, Noah and Abraham kept the Sabbath." Yet the Ten commandments and the Sabbath did not exist until Moses.
  2. Sabbatarians haven't comprehended the fact that the word "Sabbath" is never found in the book of Genesis. The first case of Sabbath keeping was in Exodus 16 at Mt. Sinai. Here Jehovah gave Moses the "Ten Commandments", for the first time in world history.
  3. If the Ten commandments did not exist before Moses, then neither did the 4th commandment unless we find some command or example before Moses.
  4. The truth is that Adam never kept the Sabbath, nor did Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph or anyone in while in Egyptian bondage!

C. There have been three distinct periods of law in the Bible:

Since God gave the law of animal sacrifices then abolished it, this also proves that God changes! Right? Wrong: The laws God gives and what God requires of man has changes a lot. There are three basic periods of earth history: Heb 1:1-2
  1. Adam to Moses: No Leviticus priesthood, Sabbath, baptism or Lord's Supper
  2. Moses to Christ: No baptism, Lord's supper
  3. Christ to second coming: No Leviticus priesthood, Sabbath or animal sacrifices

C. Ellen G. White was a false prophet:

Colossians 2:18 "Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by... taking his (her) stand on visions he (she) has seen, inflated without cause by his (Ellen White's) fleshly mind"
